Let’s be clear up front, Northwind is not a large production shop and we do not keep a large dedicated clean room these days. However, this lets us focus on what we really like and what we’re really good at – short turn manufacturing and machining, R&D project design and program management, and generally getting things done.
We’ve spent a 20+ years getting our hands wet with resins and we’ve worked with a large range of materials/processes from wet layups, resin infusions, and high temp prepreg. This allows us to help our customers work through the entire process from initial design, tooling, and part fabrication.
Additionally, we have 15+ years of mechanical design and machining experience to help bring your project from concept to reality. We have been intimately involved in a wide range of of programs over the years including Part 23 composites, Part 29 STC’s, helicopter under-hook programs, clean sheet parabolic solar array, and traditional steam engine legacy support. We do not keep DER or PE engineers on staff but do partner with a solid network of those who can support engineering sign-off’s and advanced analysis.
